Personal & Social
PERSONAL, SOCIAL & HEALTH EDUCATION
Personal, Social & Health Education plays an important part in bringing relevance, breadth and balance to the curriculum. Cross-curricular themes contribute to personal and social development by promoting a sense of achievement; confidence and competence. They promote various personal qualities such as independence of mind, respect for the truth, persistence, flexibility and imagination. They encourage personal and social skills such as the ability to organise one's own work and activities, to make informed and relevant choices and to work both independently and co-operatively. Personal, Social & Health Education underpins the value that is placed on each individual and, together with the ethos of the school, positively affects the way we treat others and how we feel about ourselves.
MULTI-CULTURAL EDUCATION
Our integrated curriculum will include informed discussion of the multicultural nature of our society; about English as a world language and about literature; poetry and drama as world global concepts. We believe that our Multi-Cultural and Social and Personal Education policies are firmly interlinked and play an important role in all that we do in school.
