CHILD CARE
MEDICAL INFORMATION
Parents are asked to complete a standard medical questionnaire before their child starts school: Additionally parents must inform the school, in writing, of any medical condition affecting their child. In the event of an emergency/ accident ambulance cover is provided by Carthage Assistance Clinic.
The school has a UK qualified nurse and several first aiders on site at all times and a medical room in case of illness or accident. We also keep basic medication in school to assist with minor ailments
THE CHILDREN'S ACT 1989
Schools are obliged to record the names and addresses of all people who are parents of each child on roll. Matters related to the child's day to day life as a pupil at the school are the responsibility of the person with whom the child lives. It is the responsibility of the adult concerned to inform the school of any changes concerning parental responsibility arrangements for the child.
Reports on a child's progress will-be provided for the parent responsible for the child.
EMERGENCIES
On occasion we may need to contact you when your child is taken ill.
If you are at work, or otherwise away from home would you let the school know :-
a] Where we can contact either parent or
b] The name of a neighbour or relation who will collect your child and look after him/her in an emergency.
ADDRESS/TELEPHONE NUMBERS
It is the responsibility of the parents of pupils at the British School to keep the school supplied with their home address, current telephone numbers of home and work, and, name and contact telephone number of the designated person who can be approached in an emergency, if neither parent can be contacted.
TRANSPORT TO SCHOOL
We suggest that parents of young children bring and collect their child for at least the first term. This makes your child feel more secure in the school environment and ensures there is an immediate discussion regarding teacher or parental concerns.
